BioIron Newsletter – March 2020
Dear Members of the BioIron Society,
From this month (March 2020) onward we will be circulating among our members a quarterly Newsletter about what is new in Bioiron such as news from the Board of Directors of Bioiron, hot off the press papers, upcoming meetings of interest, job opportunities, awards and promotions, and “ironic” material for our readership, etcetera, as shown in the Bioiron forum.
We would like to bring to your attention the following decisions taken during the General Assembly of the Society in Heidelberg, May 2019, and how the new BOD has implemented them:
IBIS has been renamed Bioiron, the Society for the Study of Iron in Biology and Medicine. A contest for a new logo for the society has been advertised by the BOD and the winner will be getting a free registration for Bioiron 2021.
The bylaws of the Society have been modified.
The BOD decided to offer training awards for talented early career researchers to undertake laboratory-based research for any length of time up to 6 months within a host institution abroad.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS MARCH 31!
